Highlights Of The 2023 Digital Health Forum

The First Edition of the Annual Digital Health Forum Uganda was a success in bringing together a powerful range of stakeholders, thought leaders, and professionals to collectively address the challenges and opportunities in advancing digital health within the Ugandan healthcare landscape. To make this event more effective we enabled its access via Zoom live streaming thereby including different individuals from the online platforms access the event.

Those who managed to grace this ground breaking occasion at Mestil Hotel Kampala on 12th October included our partners, friends and well-wishers of IICS Technologies’ Digital Health Forum. Our main objective is to combat the growth of digital health in Uganda through creating awareness with the use of digital resources and collaboration through work partnerships for long lasting results within the healthcare sector.

We enjoyed a vast array of panelists whose experience and expertise brought to light what the main agenda was on the table, and that was to inform the public of the need for digital health and most importantly to educate our healthcare providers of the urgent need to embrace digital software solutions in their work spaces to enhance productivity and increase better healthcare to their patients. The main issue that cropped up in discussion was in-fact the big divide between the healthcare providers and Digital service providers who are in fact working tirelessly to bring better innovative solutions for the healthcare service sector.

The Digital Health Forum 2023 was a significant step in creating a collaborative environment where healthcare providers know where to find what they need and they can be sure to find a great partner like IICS Technologies awaiting to deliver the best of services available with professional ICT infrastructure at the fingertips and with a software like the Hospital Management Information System, there is increased efficiency with minimum costs to the users. The Laberit International Vice President, Mr. Juan Manuel Madaleno emphasized this in his presentation of a software solution created by his company.

Our Guest of Honor speaker, Dr. Pamela Mbabazi, Chairperson of National Planning Authority who launched the event  gave insights into the Government’s role in raising digital health standards through the ongoing partnership with IICS Technologies and through the Relevant ministries like the Ministry of Health are poised to create a better environment for rural healthcare systems to adopt the changing health care system by for example providing consistent electricity supply and connecting technical support to them in form of qualified professionals they otherwise would have not accessed on their own due to lack of information and education.
